Spyros Charmanis: Wound
02/01/13 || gk
One man prog-rock band from Greece and Wound is Spyros’s second album. There’s some serious talent on display here and the man can sing, play guitar and come up with some interesting songs. The album has a Spock’s Beard kind of vibe not to mention some Dream Theatre-isms. I’m not a fan of modern progressive rock at all and prefer the original acts from the 60s and 70s but the talent on display is undeniable. Spyros is also a talented song writer but the album is over 70 minutes long and requires some serious concentration to get through in one sitting. Still, fans of prog-rock will probably find plenty to like here.
7/10: Quite an impressive effort.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
